Inspects finishes to ensure proper application and position of plating materials to the surface of the parts per customer specifications and to ascertain conformance to standards by performing the following duties:
Examines work piece for proper plating per job traveler, surface defect, damage or distortion.
Conducts daily laboratory testing per job traveler i.e. hardness, thickness, adhesion, appearance.
Sort parts for defects per job traveler, quality alert, or other instruction.
Maintains and documents all testing and sorting activities for Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis.
Marks work piece or container with hold tag to indicate defective product and reports problem to supervisor.
Records number and type of units rejected and reasons for rejection on Daily Sorting Production Log.
Maintains lot control for all parts in process.
Packages product as per instructions and signs off as acceptable to ship.
Maintains cleanliness of workstation as well as other areas of the shop as instructed by supervisor.
Completes weekly/daily inventories
Sets up and operates washer machinery as necessary. This includes the Washer Sort Machine and the Washer Rodding Machine.
Trains other Washer Auditors to set up and Operate Washer Sort Machine and Washer Rodding Machine if needed.
Performs other duties as instructed by supervisor.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
