Quality Assurance Technician

Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process; compiles and evaluates statistical  data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties

Requirements

  • Interprets engineering drawings and specifications and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Facilitate problem solving meetings with employees and managers to resolve internal and external quality problems and document corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain quality systems by communicating and implementing them throughout the plant using the QS-9000 methodology and the quality policy.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Assure all testing on finished and in-process material is being completed and documented. Report on capability.
  • Develop and implement documentation, such as work instructions and procedures, that improves the quality systems.
  • Organize and maintain systems for all quality related documents. Certifications, Prints, and Specifications are examples.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.
  • Develop and maintain systems to assure gage calibrations and certifications are up to date and are documented.
  • Responsible for proper care and handling of Company, vendor or customer owned equipment, gages, tooling and other items as assigned.
  • Conducts analytical test on solutions when required.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area as well as other areas as instructed by supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as instructed by supervisor.

 

Education/Experience

Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
