Surface Finishing Expertise

The Right Finish
for the Job.
Every Time.

Every plating process exists to solve a problem — corrosion, wear, adhesion, conductivity. We tailor our processes to your specific application, not a one-size-fits-all finish.

Corrosion Resistance & Protection

When your parts are exposed to moisture, salt, chemicals, or temperature cycling, corrosion protection isn’t a nice-to-have — it’s the reason you’re plating in the first place. KC Jones runs multiple zinc-based processes designed to meet the corrosion-resistance specifications required by automotive, industrial, and defense programs.

01

Zinc Plating

The most widely used corrosion-protection finish in high-volume manufacturing. Provides a sacrificial barrier against moisture, rust, and environmental exposure. Available in rack and barrel across multiple facilities.

02

Zinc-Nickel Plating

When standard zinc isn’t enough. Delivers 1,000+ hours of salt spray performance — the finish automotive and aerospace programs specify for harsh underhood, underbody, or coastal environments. Rack and barrel at Michigan and Mexico.

03

Zinc-Iron Plating

An environmentally conscious, cost-effective alternative with strong corrosion protection and clean, consistent appearance. Commonly specified for automotive components that sit between standard zinc and zinc-nickel in performance requirements.

Wear Resistance

Wear Resistance & Surface Performance

Some parts don’t just need protection from the environment — they need a surface that can take punishment. Friction, abrasion, heat, and mechanical contact all degrade unfinished surfaces over time. Our nickel and bronze plating processes are engineered to extend part life in the most demanding operating conditions.

04

Electroless Nickel-Phosphorus

Largest EN Capacity in North America

Deposits a uniform coating regardless of part geometry — no heavy edges, no thin spots. Exceptional hardness, natural lubricity, and strong corrosion resistance in a single finish. Rack and barrel at Michigan and Indiana.

05

Electroless Nickel-Boron

KC Jones Proprietary

A high-performance alternative to hard chrome plating. Superior hardness, excellent wear resistance, extreme temperature tolerance — without the environmental and regulatory concerns of hexavalent chromium.

06

Miccrolloy® Bronze Plating

Nadcap Accredited

Our proprietary Nadcap-accredited bronze coating purpose-built for aerospace and defense. Superior machinability, exceptional surface-bearing properties, outstanding resistance against severe grinding and shear adhesion.

Why KC Jones

Why KC Jones for Your Plating Program

You can find shops that run zinc. You can find shops that run electroless nickel. What’s harder to find is a supplier that runs six chemistries across four facilities in two countries — all under ISO 9001, with Nadcap and IATF 16949 where your program requires them.

ISO 9001

Every facility certified. Same processes, same documentation, same quality expectations across all locations.

Nadcap

Aerospace quality system accreditation. Precision, traceability, and process discipline that aerospace demands.

IATF 16949

Global automotive quality standard. Required by OEMs and tier suppliers across the automotive supply chain.

Dual-PPAP

Run approved production at two locations for supply chain continuity. Never dependent on a single site.

We don’t just plate parts. We solve surface finishing problems.
